About Ted Schaar

Freelance Writer

After receiving a BA form the University of Wisconsin--Madison, I worked for WZMF, once an album-oriented FM rock station in the Milwaukee area, Wisconsin Telephone Company, and the original Allen-Bradley Company.  I've been a freelance writer since 1984  and have completed assignments for more than 50 organizations.

Recently, I have been writing feature articles such as "Sixteen Decades of Railroads in Brookfield and Elm Grove" for magazines, newspapers, and websites.  Another story I've written focuses on the body of water and its environs near the intersection of Burleigh Road and Lilly Road that's been in the news.  It's called "Brookfield's Hidden Lake."

Links to other stories are listed at my website schaarcommunications.com.  If you wish to contact me, please send an e-mail.

In addition to writing, I have a business called roygbivdesignsLLC that sells scratching posts that I designed.  They are manufactured to my specs by Wisconsin woodworking companies and made of natural materials such as cedar and cork.  Each comes with an easy-to-read-and-use booklet that teaches people how to train their cats to claw Natural Scratch and nothing else.  Please have a look at www.naturalscratch.com.
