At the beginning of the nineties, "Web," "cyberspace," even "e-mail" meant nothing to most Americans. Now they are household words as familiar as "telephone" and "television." Sales of personal computers worldwide, this year, are expected to reach 100 million units—slightly less than color television sales. Like the Industrial Revolution, the digital revolution is sweeping across society and changing everything. Jane Hannemann has our report.
